This apparatus is useful for holding objects that are too large for standard clamps, such as glass distillation columns and odd-shaped glassware. The chain and support band are made of strong chrome-plated brass, and the support rod is constructed of stainless steel. The chain links bend to conform to the shape of the object being held. The tension spring locks the chain links in place to firmly hold objects. The chain is 21 inches long and can be adjusted to support apparatus from 2 to 6.5 inches in diameter. The support rod is 0.46 inch in diameter, with a length of 8.5 inches. The tips have an ABS coating, with a working temperature range of -20°C to 80°C.
