Details
Here is the corrected text: Raw Biotite Specimen - Single Sample, 1" Found within igneous and metamorphic rocks, biotite mica is characterized by its sheet-like appearance and glassy luster, making it easy to identify. Formed from cooling magma, biotite's layers are individually weak but comprehensively strong. This mineral is excellent for classroom study and identification, as its thin and layered structure is perfect for demonstrating variable hardness and cleavage, physical properties of minerals, as well as Bowen's reaction series. While each specimen may vary slightly in shape, size, and color, it will measure approximately 1" in length. Each specimen is individually packaged, labeled, and barcoded for easy identification and storage. Selected and processed by a geologist, each and every specimen exhibits defining features. Our rocks and minerals are sourced from various locations around the world and are hand-processed in Victor, NY.
