Details
Here is the corrected text: Coarse White Marble Specimen - Single Sample, 1" Marble is a metamorphic rock formed from limestone. The high-pressure, low-heat alteration leads to a massive crystalline rock that can form a variety of shapes. Marble has been mined heavily for use in buildings and furniture and has traditionally been used in architecture as well. Although much denser than limestone, marble will still effervesce in acid, making it useful in identification exercises. While each specimen will vary slightly in shape, size, and color, it will measure approximately 1" in length. The specimen is packaged in a transparent bag that is labeled and barcoded for easy identification and storage. Selected and Processed by a Geologist Each and every specimen is selected and hand-processed by an actual geologist, ensuring that each sample exhibits defining features. Rocks and minerals are sourced from a variety of locations around the world and are processed by hand in Victor, NY.
