This vacuum desiccator holds a full vacuum (740mm Hg at 20cm) at room temperature for 24 hours and will remain airtight even when not under vacuum. The chamber and lid are made of high-quality, semi-frosted borosilicate 3.3 glass. It includes a 132mm (5.2") diameter porcelain sieve plate, which sits at the bottom of the chamber and has an effective inner diameter of 15cm (5.9"). The unit comes with a cover featuring a knob. The overall size is 210mm (8.25") O.D. x 229mm (9") H. This product is autoclavable and boasts superior chemical durability, with a low temperature gradient that allows it to withstand high temperatures and thermal shocks. Eisco Labs' borosilicate glass has the following heat tolerances: strain point of 515°C, annealing point of 565°C, and softening point of 820°C.
