Made from heavy-duty borosilicate 3.3 glass, this vacuum desiccator features an inner chamber diameter of 20cm (7.9"). It can hold a full vacuum of 740mm Hg at room temperature for 24 hours and remains airtight even when not under vacuum. The desiccator includes a 194mm (7.6") porcelain sieve plate that rests on the 205mm (8.1") inner diameter chamber bottom, as well as a removable glass stopcock with a side arm, allowing controlled air entrance while preventing unnecessary turbulence. With superior chemical durability and heat tolerance, this product is designed for professional laboratories but is also an ideal choice for science classrooms and household use. The chamber, lid, and stopcock are constructed from high-quality semi-frosted borosilicate 3.3 glass. The removable glass stopcock with side arm measures 105mm H x 56mm W. The overall desiccator size without the stopcock is 265mm (10.4") O.D. x 281mm (11.1") H. This autoclavable desiccator features a low temperature gradient and can withstand high temperatures and thermal shocks. Eisco Labs Borosilicate glass has the following heat tolerances: Strain Point, 515°C; Annealing Point, 565°C; Softening Point, 820°C.
