Details

This academic Bunsen burner provides a safe, continuous stream of flammable gas for heating, sterilization, and combustion. It features one adjustment, an air flow adjustment sleeve with a brass flame stabilizer. The design allows the flame to be controlled via the valve at the gas output, rather than at the burner itself. This is a basic, easy-to-use burner suitable for natural gas. The burner comes equipped with a casted, ribbed fuel input tube with an 8mm outside diameter. A recommended neoprene tube (not included) connects the burner to the fuel source; options include Eisco Item numbers CH0100A (23.60" / 60cm long) or CH0100B (35.43" / 90cm long), each with flexible ends that can fit a variable diameter of 0.28" to 0.42" to accommodate different burner sizes. This improved design features an extended cast-iron base (4.25" x 4.25") that prevents easy tipping, even with hoses connected. The burner feet are spaced at all four corners for extra stability, allowing the burner to fit comfortably under stands. It also features a sturdy "candlestick holder" handle, which is cast into the base to enable safe movement of the burner. Natural Gas Burners typically have a BTU range of 800-1200 and a maximum temperature of approximately 1500° C (2732° F). All burners are available for both liquid propane and natural gas. Liquid propane burners have a BTU range of usually 2,000-3,200 and a maximum temperature of approximately 1,550° C (2,822° F). There are several burner options available: * Basic Burner (CH0991NG & CH0991LP): A very basic, easy-to-use burner often selected based on price. * Academic Burner (CH0992NG & CH0992LP): A burner with a flame stabilizer and air flow control, the most common basic academic burner. * Versatile Burner (CH0993NG & CH0993LP): A burner with a flame stabilizer and gas adjustment, offering flexibility to control both gas and air flow to the flame. * Micro Burner (CH0994NG & CH0994LP): A compact option for situations where space and height are concerns. * Tirrill Burner (CH0995NG & CH0995LP): A specialized burner for finely controlled air-gas mixtures. * Meker Burner (CH0996NG & CH0996LP): A burner designed for hotter flames. All burners are available for both liquid propane and natural gas.
