Specifications Gly-Phe-AFC is a fluorogenic, cell-permeant peptide substrate, used in Cytotoxicity testing. In vitro cytotoxicity testing has become an integral aspect of drug discovery because it is a convenient, costeffective, and predictive means of characterizing the toxic potential of new chemical entities.Gly-Phe-AFC is a fluorogenic, cell-permeant peptide substrate use to measure number of live cells in cytotoxic assay. It enters intact cells where it is cleaved to generate a fluorescent signal proportional to the number of living cells. This live-cell protease activity marker becomes inactive upon loss of membrane integrity and leakage into the surrounding culture medium. It is also used as substrate for measuring Dipeptidyl peptidase1 (DPP1) activity.
