Details
Here is the corrected text: This raw porphyritic granite specimen is a single sample, approximately 1" in length. Granite forms slowly in shallow or evolved magma chambers and is also commonly found as magmatic intrusions in the crust. The large crystals are indicative of a slow cooling rate, making mineral identification simple. This specimen is excellent for classroom mineral study and identification, particularly when discussing rock types, the rock cycle, and the formation, classification, and identification of igneous rocks. Although each specimen will vary slightly in shape, size, and color, it will measure approximately 1" in length. Each specimen is individually packaged, labeled, and barcoded for easy identification and storage. Selected and processed by a geologist, each and every specimen exhibits defining features. Our rocks and minerals are sourced from various locations around the world and are hand-processed in Victor, NY. If you need additional information or have questions about our rock and mineral samples, feel free to reach out to our team of scientists and geologists for technical support.
