The Spark Timer is used to measure the velocity and acceleration of falling or moving objects. When the tape is pulled through the timer, a spark is created that burns tiny dots onto the tape at precise and uniform intervals. The faster the tape is pulled through the timer, the larger the distance between the dots. This allows students to calculate acceleration. The kit includes spark tape, carbon disks, weight, clamp, and an activity guide.
