Pluripotent stem cells (PSCs) are functionally defined by their capacity for self-renewal and their ability to differentiate into cells from all three germ layers. Mouse PSCs are characterized by their marker expression, including positive markers Oct-3/4, SSEA-1, Alkaline Phosphatase, and negative marker, SSEA-4.
